In the early 1970’s, we lived in Florida for three years. Pushing forward with hope and the end goal of happiness, Mom was always focused on the next chapter. Having an artist’s eye with a love for homes, she was great at decorating and updating. Thus, with each home they purchased, when time came to sell, the return was well above board.
From Stone Mountain, to Florida, To Mobile, to Dunwoody – all added to the family foundation.
At a Clearwater library book sale, she purchased a simple children’s book titled “The Little White House.”
She read it to us often as children and would always tell us that we will eventually get that “Little White House” with pets, gardening, and country adventures galore.
Adventurous chapters included “The Pets” and “ At The Farm.” Mom referenced this book throughout the years; always sharing how she couldn’t wait to restore her own “Little White House…”
Tonka is the only horse left on the property as of this writing. He too is a paint just like the horse on the book cover with a very similar color pattern. What are the odds?
